History
1968 Works foundation
“Kontur” works was founded (Order No459 dd. 29.08.1968 issued by Ministry of electronic industry) on the basis of the thermoelectric power station Zavolzhsky with the purpose of production of electronic technology articles. The foundation was caused by transfer of our country to intensive way of development of electronic technology production. The main function of the works was to develop production and output of precision special purpose tool for microwelding and microsoldering when producing microcircuits and semiconductor devices. To accomplish these tasks the works was equipped with high-accuracy metal-working machinery and first-rate specialists were prepared. Thus, the works succeeded in accomplishing tasks.
1970 Hand tool
An output of hand tools of various completenesses as consumer goods intended for remedial maintenance and assembly-disassembly at home as well as in different fields of technology was arranged.
1971 Microtool for microwelding and microsoldering
Production of thermocompressor needles and probes, capillaries and electrodes was started. Gradual development of new types of microtools – carbide, ceramic, steel, ruby and others – was also realized. At the same time manufacture of pneumatic machines for refining test portions of casting molds and dies was launched.
1974-1976 Diamond tool
Production of new electronic technology items was developed:
· Diamond tools (grinding wheels) for finishing and roughing color television screens;
· Diamond internal diameter blades intended for cutting silicon ingots and semiconducting material (compounds of A3B5 group, gadolinium gallium garnets, sapphire, glass pipes and other hard and brittle nonmetal materials) into plates.
1977-1980 Expansion of assortment of the goods produced
Production of pneumatic universal sets (PUN 2, 3) consisting of outfits of pneumatic machines and those of retooling to them (NIS-1, 2) as well as of hard-face drills. Moreover, during this period new consumer goods had been developed:
· protractor, screwdrivers simple, cross-shaped, with screw-carrier;
· various kits of tools for woodworks and other sorts of hand tools (“Lyubitel”, “Sputnik”, “Yubileiny”).
1982 VHS video cassettes
In 1982 the works “Kontur” bought accurate Japan equipment for casting plastic parts and a line for assembly of video cassettes of the company NAKATANI SOGIO CO. Our enterprise the first in our country developed licensed lot production of video cassettes of the most widespread international format VHS.
1984 Erection of new works
In order to increase the production volume, new production capacities of “Kontur” works were put into action; since then the company’s consisted of two working areas: “Zavolzhsky” and “Cheboksary”.
1992 Medical instrument
In 1992 the works started developing the production of medical purpose items. At present time the following types of items are developed:
· acupuncture needles and sets of needles for treatment of wide range of diseases by method of acupuncture;
· needles disposable, atraumatic, ophthalmologic, vascular for neuro- and mocrosurgery;
· needles disposable for suturing tissues during microsurgical procedures;
· eye canulas aspirating, irrigative and sets of needles for cataract extraction operation.
Carbonic vacuum-plasma coatings received from low-temperature plasmic synthesis possessing unique mechanical-and-physical properties to strengthen die and tool surface, etc., for dentures decorative finishing with the purpose of cosmetic effect improvement, increase of resistance to corrosive attack and mechanical strength, were developed.
1994 Transformation of the works into a joint-stock company
The works “Kontur” was transformed into the Joint-Stock Company “Kontur”
1995 Electronic power modules
In 1995 production of electronic power modules on uni- and bipolar transistors with insulated gate for usage in power-saving translating equipment was developed.
1997 Reconstruction of “Kontur” JSC
In 1997 a reconstruction of “Kontur” JSC was realized. This in turn led to foundation of the following branch establishments:

2000 Moscow representative office

2001 “Clean room”
On the 25th of August a new shop called “Clean room” was opened at “Kontur” JSC. The shop permits the creation of ideal conditions, necessary for high-quality assemblage of electronic power modules, power semiconductors, miniaturizing the electrical equipment functioning at a high voltage ten times. In “Clean room” assemblage of electronic power modules and control over the main production characteristics is realized. The room is kept at 1% humidity, 1 degrees and air purity equal to 3.5 motes per 1 liter of air. Electronic modules production by such a shop can provide additional annual volume of sales equal to almost 50 millions of rubles and 200 work places. At present, “Kontur” JSC – the only enterprise in Russia producing electronic power modules as end items.
2002 Certificate award
“Kontur” JSC became the winner of the All-Russian contest “The Best Russian Enterprise”. Nikolay Ivanovich Bakunovets, chairman of the Board, was awarded certificate and medal in solemn setting in Moscow from the inspection organizers – Russian union of manufacturers and entrepreneurs, Chamber of commerce and industry of Russia and Institute of experts.
2003 The title of the leader of the regional economics was bestowed upon “Eye microsurgery” and “Kontur” Ltd. as a developer of medical equipment production
The prize of the ChuvashRepublic was instituted for the made progress. “Kontur” JSC and Research-and-productionCenter “Expromt-Kontur” Ltd. developed the production of nozzles and special laps for complex processing equipment servicing nuclear power stations (Kurskaya, Smolenskaya, Kolskaya, etc.).
2004 “Kontur” JSC became the best in the contest
“Kontur” JSC became the best in the contest between enterprises and received funds from the federal budget for development of power electronics which permitted to launch lot production of the electronic power modules. Lot production of high technologies for manufacture of ceramic parts of aeronautical engineering guidance system was developed as well.
2005 “Kontur” JSC completed the program “Connector”
“Kontur” JSC completed the program “Connector” (fiber-optic communication). “Kontur” JSC and “Eye microsurgery” Ltd. developed a new production of special automatic ophthalmologic needles with suture material for fixation of intraocular lens in the production of which ultrastrong medical steel and nonabsorbable suture with high characteristics are used.
2006 “Kontur” JSC launched the lot production of irrigation/aspiration needles
In January “Kontur” JSC and “Eye surgery” started the lot production of irrigation/aspiration needles with the port diameter equal to: 0.3 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm. As a result of increase of the production standard “Kontur” JSC and Research-and-productionCenter “Expromt-Kontur” Ltd. entered foreign markets on micro instruments and diamond tools (Israel, Bulgaria, China and Spain).
